Boss says signing midfielder a real plus in a tough week

Midfielder Tom Lowery signed a new and improved two-year deal with the club this week and boss David Artell says that it was great news in what turned out to be a difficult week.

Lowery, who has recently made a successful return to action following hernia trouble, will be hoping to press his claim for a place against Blackpool and then Sunderland this week.

Artell told crewealex.net: “It is really great news about Tom. He is a terrific, young player and we are delighted to have him with us for another two years at least. “
