"Mikael Has Been A Breath Of Fresh Air Since Arriving"

Boss on his leading marksman Mandron as he heads back to Sunderland

David Artell has branded the club’s leading scorer, Mikael Mandron, a ‘real breath of fresh’ air since arriving at the club from Gillingham in the summer.

The Frenchman has scored five goals in his first seven games and tomorrow night returns to his former club, Sunderland, aiming to add to that personal tally.

Mandron volleyed home the opening goal in our 1-1 draw with Blackpool at the weekend and Artell says that he continues to impress with his goals, hold up play and all round hard work for the team.

David told crewealex.net: “Mikael has been a real breath of fresh air. He always comes in with a smile on his face and makes people laugh. He is great around the place and a really good guy.

“On the pitch, he works his socks off for the team and has plenty about him. I am sure he is loving life at Crewe at the moment with the goals he has scored and long may that continue.

“When we profiled him as a potential target, we assessed his all round game and not just on the amount of goals he had scored. It was important that he could fit into what we wanted to do and he did.

“We felt he was a good age and that he would improve and he is going at things in the right way. Hopefully, the way he has started the season will continue.”
