David Artell has told crewealex.net that everyone who has been in this week is fit and healthy. The Alex boss has some selections to make in the wake in the Covid-19 positive tests for the visit of Wigan Athletic this weekend.

Artell told the club’s official website: “Everyone in the building is fine. We have a couple of knocks but those that have been in this week have been fit and healthy.

“It is not uncommon to have a week like this and we are not the only ones. Wigan Athletic have had a couple of players, Grimsby have had issues, Orient, Liverpool have had a few missing games. It has affected everyone and we are all learning and still finding out about this virus.

He added: “Our procedures have been put in place for a while now and nothing has changed. We have had four positive tests, so the spread has been controlled. Now we can look forward to playing some football again. This is the new normal and we have to crack on. “
