Dave Artell was delighted that Tom Lowery and Donervon Daniels got game time under their belt under Newcastle United Under-21s. Lowery completed 70 minutes before being replaced by Luke Murphy whilst Daniels played the full game at right back and at centre-half.

Artell told crewealex.net: “It was only Tom’s second game since January, so that is a long time. He came through fine and we will continue to assess his progress and get his ready to play 90 minutes.

“Donervon did terrifically well to complete 90 minutes. I thought he was outstanding for us and what he did for the team.

“They are both not far away and hopefully they can get keep making the right progress. They just need game time after missing a lot of football and I am sure they will be involved with the squad this weekend.”
