Artell: "Oxford Have A Style Under Karl"

2 October 2020

Alex boss expecting another tough test against Robinson's U's.

Karl Robinson’s Oxford United side will be another tough test this weekend as Crewe Alexandra look to build on two successive victories over MK Dons and Newcastle Under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Robinson’s Oxford side narrowly lost the Play-Off Final to Wycombe Wanderers last season and Artell believes that the U’s will be challenging for promotion once again.

Ahead of our trip to Oxford, the Alex boss said: “We have won two games on the bounce, scoring three goals and conceding none. It has been a good week so far and the aim will be to go to Oxford and match them.

“They are a very good. You can see that they are well coached under Karl and are hard to beat. They could have been a Championship side and were unfortunate not to go up. We have played Hull and Charlton who were Championship sides six, seven weeks ago, so we know what to expect.

“Karl is very experienced and you see what he has put into them and what his philosophy is. It will be another tough game but a challenge we look forward to.”
