In the last fixture, Crewe were away to Ipswich Town as they travelled to Portman Road for the first time since 2005, despite what was a strong performance from the Railwaymen they returned to Cheshire with no points or goals to reflect their performance.

Crewe: Youngster Josh Lundstram is the only absentee for Tuesday’s game as he recovers from a fractured ankle, whilst Donervon Daniels who was named on the bench against Lincoln City last Tuesday evening could make a return to the squad.

Gillingham: The visitors were bolstered by the return of Ryan Jackson, Kyle Dempsey and former Alex striker Vadaine Oliver on Saturday, having come through the game unscathed all three should be available for selection. Alex MacDonald will miss out through suspension.
