Ng: "We Are Being Punished For Slight Mistakes"

5 November 2020

Perry Ng says that Crewe Alexandra are being punished by the slightest mistakes in League One. The club captain says that is the biggest difference they are finding from last season and another slight lapse saw us concede the only goal of the game to Gillingham on Tuesday evening.

That narrow 1-0 defeat was our third straight and Ng says that we only had ourselves to blame for not taking our chances when we were dominating.

The Liverpool-born defender,24, told the club’s official website: “The performances have been good enough but we haven’t taken our chances and then one mistake has cost us. It has happened too many times now and we know we have to improve that.

“If we can start taking some of our chances and be slightly better defensively then I am sure we will start getting those wins and we can turn things around quickly.

“The teams are a lot more organised in League One than last year. They have a game plan and they stick to it.

He added: “The players are also quicker and sharper and that is the main difference. I think we have competed well and been in the game against some of the best teams in the division, so we don’t think we are far off but we have to get back to winning games again, starting with Bolton in the FA Cup.”
