Crewe Remain Hopeful Over Injured Duo

25 November 2020

Club remain optimisitic that injuries to Beckles and Mandron are not too serious

Crewe Alexandra remain hopeful that the injured pair of Omar Beckles and Mikael Mandron will not be out of contention for long. Leading scorer Mandron has missed the last two away games at Portsmouth and Accrington Stanley after suffering from a tight hamstring.

Both Offrande Zanzala and Chris Porter have started in his absence. Mandron has not been risked as a precaution as to not escalate the problem.

The same caution has been applied to Beckles. He was forced off in the 4-1 defeat to Portsmouth with a groin strain. He was unable to continue after the interval and was replaced by Olly Lancashire at Fratton Park. Lancashire retained his place at Accrington last night.

The club remain optimistic that the two injuries are not serious and both players will continue to be monitored and assessed ahead of our FA Cup second round tie at Cheltenham this weekend.
