Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has described the FA Cup as ‘the best cup competition in the whole world’.
The Alex travel to former winners of the competition, Bolton Wanderers, this weekend hoping to progress to the second round.
David told crewealex.net: “The FA Cup is the best FA Cup competition in the whole world and it is something we always look forward to. We have played Bolton twice already this season, if you include the final pre-season fixture, which is seen as a dress rehearsal for the season opener.
“We need to go there and reach those levels again and if we can then we will win the game.
“There is glory available to all clubs in the FA Cup. If someone says that Manchester United don’t want to get the final and win a trophy then I would disagree with them.
“There may be some foreign managers, who now don’t understand the culture of the FA Cup and what it means. They will moan about it but we are all paid to play games and they should just get on with it.
The boss added: “I could moan that I have a squad of 29 players and have to play 32 Under-23 games and 50 odd first team games, but we don’t, we just get on with it.”
