David Artell has revealed that Donervon Daniels is expected to be out for a minimum of three months after a scan on his hamstring injury revealed a grade three tear.
Daniels has been limited to just two appearances for the club since signing on a free transfer from Luton Town.
The Alex boss told the club’s official web-site: “Donervon went for an original scan and it looked as though it was a modern, medium tear in the hamstring and we thought he would be out for 4-6 weeks.
“We waited three weeks and he was stepping up his rehab. Owen (Clarke), our physio thought something was not right.
“We sent him for a scan again and the consultant looked at it and believed that it was not normal stuff going on and that it would need surgery intervention.
He added: “Donervon went for scan on Friday and was in London having surgery on Tuesday. The turnaround was quick but he will be out for between 3-4 months. Hopefully, he will come back stronger than ever.”
