David Artell was pleased that the result over league leaders, Peterborough United, on Saturday matched the performance. Crewe produced another high intensity display to defeat Darren Ferguson’s 2-0 at the Alexandra Stadium and Artell believes that the type of result has been brewing for a while.
The Alex boss told the club’s official website: “We have played well for a number of weeks now and we have been unfortunate not to have picked up more points than we have. We should have beaten Gillingham and Ipswich but ended up losing 1-0.
“We have beaten the league leaders and because it is not an international weekend, we have made some more headlines but we are not getting carried away.
“The lads have played like they have been doing and won a game of football. It was quickly onto Oxford on Tuesday night.
“We have to keep going and keep on churning out the results and sees where that takes us.”
