Boss complimentary of Ferguson's league leaders.

Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson believes that Crewe Alexandra play some of the best football in League One.

Ferguson’s Posh side are currently top of the league and will arrive at Gresty Road full of confidence, but they also appreciate that Crewe are in a false position after a tough run of fixtures.

In his pre-match interview, Ferguson was complimentary about Crewe’s style of play, the production line of having good technical players and the continuing philosophy of the club that has served so well over so many years.

Crewe boss David Artell was equally complimentary about his opposite number tomorrow: “Darren is a very good manager and knows his stuff. If he thinks that we play some of the best football in the division then that is nice to here.

“I would say that as the Crewe manager but if someone of Darren’s standing in the game is saying it publicly then that only affirms what I believe.

“If I think we are in a false position then yes. We should have points to reflect the performances. It is what it is and we have to start proving it as well with the results.

“If the results are not there to back up the performances then there will always be that criticism that comes with it.

He added: “Peterborough are a good side and they will be contenders again. It will be a good game. It will be a far cry from the whack a ball that happened a few times in League Two last year.”
