On-loan defender Michael Nottingham says that all the players can do is continue to top up their fitness in readiness for a return to action. Nottingham recently agreed to extend his stay with us from Blackpool in the hope that the 2019/20 season will be completed and he will have the chance to be involved in a promotion winning side at Crewe.
Nottingham had told the club’s official website that he has remained positive and is planning to head back to training on May 16th as that is the return date, English players are still working towards.
The popular defender told crewealex.net: “It really is about remaining as positive as you can. All you can do is keep doing your work at home and prepare for the 16th of May, as that is the date we have been given and what we are working towards.
“It is all a bit surreal and I never thought I would see something like this in my lifetime but all you can is crack on and keep as fit as possible.
“You do have your routine at home and it is usually the same thing every day. Thankfully, I also have my family around me and they keep me entertained. It’s nice to be with the family but you do miss that routine of getting up and training with the lads and preparing for the games.
“You can do your bits at home and nip the shops from time to time for essentials but it is a bit weird and all you can do is carry on until it is safe for everyone to get back to some sort of normality.”
