Despite the transfer market being technically open for business this summer, David Artell admits that agents and representatives have been reserved in their contact about players.
The Alex boss says that most agents are completely understanding of the current market and know how difficult it has become for Football Clubs to conduct any sort of business with so much uncertainty surrounding the country.
David told crewealex.net via video link: “May, June and July is a busy time for agents and players moving on or trying to get fixed up. It is certainly quieter than usual with all the uncertainty.
“Agents are not daft, they understand that the market has now changed and that clubs are not in a position to do much. They are not on the phone talking about this player or that player, or if that or this happens. It is all up in the air. We don’t even know what league we are going to be in.
“Agents are not on pitching players at the moment because they know they will get the same answer everywhere they go, we will have to wait and see where we are when we are safe to return.”
