"I Try Not To Worry Unduly About Things I Cannot Control"

19 March 2020

Boss taking calm approach as we wait for the football season to kick off again...

A defiant David Artell says his Crewe Alexandra squad ‘will be ready’ for when the 2019/20 football season resumes. As it stands all football in the country is postponed until at least 30th April and the club will continue to take advice from the government and football authorities in regards to our next steps.

A philosophical Alex boss says that he tries not to worry too much about things that he cannot control. The outbreak of the coronavirus is unprecedented and is certainly challenging but Artell is determined not to waste energy on the ‘uncontrollables.’

David told crewealex.net: “It is certainly a challenge but it is something life has thrown up and we just have to get on with it.

“I try not to worry about things that I cannot affect and I cannot do anything about this. If I constantly worry about it and what it means to me on a person level, the season, the club and all that then I am just wasting energy because no-one knows for certain what is going to happen.

“There is no point putting yourself not in a good place about it because what will be will be.

The boss added: “Of course, this has jumped to the forefront of everyone’s thinking but I will do my upmost not to worry about it unduly.”
