"We Have Become A Tough Nut To Crack"

9 March 2020

Boss credits his consistent side as they go back top.

David Artell says that 8 points from our last four games is the ‘bare minimum’ achieved at the point where we find ourselves.

Crewe Alexandra returned to the top of the table with a comfortable 3-1 win over Stevenage and coupled with Swindon’s home loss to neighbours Forest Green Rovers, the Alex have returned to the summit on goal difference – but Swindon do have a game in hand.

It is still extremely close at the top of the League Two table and Artell is pleased with the consistency his team are showing at the business end of the season.

The Alex boss said: “We have bounced back from set-backs this season and not had too many back-to-back defeats. The consistency has been good and we have to keep it going.

“When we didn’t win at Morecambe and only got a point, there was some negativity but when we got a point at Exeter it was deemed a great point – but it is still only two points out of six.

“We have won a lot of games at home and we have 8 points out of a possible 12 from the last four games so that is the bare minimum achieved. That is about right to where we are and we have to keep that consistency going over the next 9 games.

“We have become a tough nut to crack and that is because we have good players and they deserve the credit.”
