Crewe Alexandra Under-23s were defeated by their Burnley counterparts, losing 3-0 at Gresty Road on Monday (March 9th) afternoon.
Josh Mumbongo opened the scoring for the away side, netting just before half-time.
Alex Morris' side had chances to level, with Connor Heath's lofted effort the closest to an equaliser.
Late on, Burnley added a second and third to put the game to bed. Ne-Jai Tucker fired beyond Dave Richards, before Mumbongo tapped in.
The Under-23s return to action next week, as they travel away to Wigan Athletic on Monday (March 16th).
