Injured Players Also Working With Indvidual Fitness Programmes

25 March 2020

Reilly, Rio, Eddie and Tom all hoping to be closer to a return when football resumes.

David Artell has revealed that the club’s injured players have been devised their own individual programmes to make sure they are given the best chance of being fit for when football resumes.

The Alex players all have their own home based programmes to work towards and they are supported by on-line clips and fitness guides.

The club’s few injured players are no different.

Tom Lowery (groin), Eddie Nolan (back), Lewis Reilly (knee) and Rio Adebisi (ankle) had all been making considerable progress in their quest to be fit before the outbreak of the coronavirus halted football two months shy of the season ending.

Artell told the club’s official website: “As it stands all we can do is prepare the players the best we can for when we are back playing again. They all have their own individual programmes to work with and that includes the injured players.

“We are not too bad for injuries and Tom and Rio were making good progress before the postponement. Lewis was out running again and doing work with the physio’s and Liam Anderson (fitness coach). We know with Eddie it is more about time and Mother Nature taking its course but he was feeling a lot better and his leg was getting stronger.

“We have used the time we were in last week to put some plans in place and the players will continue to top themselves up and hopefully we will have one or two of them back with us again when it starts up again.”
