Boss: "It Really Has Been Business As Usual When It Comes To Planning"

31 March 2020

David Artell says it is pretty much ‘business as usual’ when it comes to his planning for next season. The Crewe Alexandra boss is in constant contact with Chairman John Bowler, the directors and his own staff when it comes to finalising decisions looking ahead to 2020/21.

The Alex boss admits that some of those key decisions will depend on which division we will be playing in next season.

Crewe are top of League Two with nine matches to be completed once it is safe to do so following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic around the world.

Artell told the club’s official website: “We are still working from home and that includes planning for next season. We have discussed contracts and what we want to do there and that is sure to continue over the next few weeks.

“The coronavirus has put that on in terms of anything concrete being done but we are in a good position.

“It has been something of a baptism of fire for the new directors on the board, but we are fairly stable football club and it has been business as usual in terms of recruitment and our talks over retention.”
