David Artell is craving another highly charged atmosphere once again at Gresty Road this weekend with bottom side Stevenage arriving in South Cheshire. The Alex boss has described Alex Revell’s side as ‘a dangerous opponent’ because of their perilous position in the table and he wants the Alex faithful out in force again to make sure we get the three points.
Artell told the club’s official website: “The fans always help. We had 157 at Exeter on a Tuesday night and they helped us enormously. They made a right noise and it wasn’t as though we were in the cauldron of home supporters because of that.
“They sang their hearts out for us and we will need them again this weekend because it will be another tough game.
“Can we get another 5,000+ home supporters? I hope so because it is important. They get us going.
“I remember coming out at twenty past two against Macclesfield and the Gresty Road was half full by then, I thought we are going to be all right here because they are going to make a right noise. We need that again.”
