The squad will be ready to tackle League One head on.
David Artell says that he and his squad 'will be ready to go again’ once it is safe to resume playing football again. After promotion to League One was confirmed this week, the Alex boss said that this was the first step of his plan accomplished and that the club will be looking towards more than just survival next season.
The Alex boss told the club’s official website: “We have to go again. It will be a long, extended break and once we have a holiday of a number of weeks off, we will get back to it.
“Of course, we need a concrete date in mind for the start of next season and I’ve heard one or two suggestions. Once we have that date, we will work towards that and I am sure the players will glad to be back.
“We cannot tell when that it is going to be and we have had to rely on the players being fit to play again if we were asked to come back and complete the season. We can only go on what we have seen and what they have informed Liam (Anderson) (lead sports scientist).
“It is very different training on your own, as to in a group with your mates and team-mates but I’m sure when things are a bit clearer, they will be back at it and ready for the next challenge.
He added: “They have to tackle League One head on and look to be as successful as they can again.”
