David Artell does not expect any of his young assets to depart the club this summer, especially in the financial climate caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Crewe Alexandra boss has told the club’s official website that he has ‘not received one phone call regarding any of the players’ and he suggests that in the current climate nor does he expect any offers to arrive.
Artell told crewealex.net: “I haven’t received one phone call from anyone outside the football club about any of our players. How likely that is that we will? In the current landscape I would say that is unlikely, but I don’t think impossible.
“As far as I am aware, no-one has cut the phone lines, so the way of communication is still there and they can get hold of us if they want to.
The boss added: “They know where we are and I am sure all these clubs who have seen our players and are possibly interested in our players, if they want to pick the phone then I’m sure they will do but I cannot see it in the current climate if I am being honest.”
