Boss On His Ideal Summer Of Recruitment

Boss targets improving the spine of his side to help bolster his options heading into League One

David Artell has told the club’s official web-site that he would like to improve the spine of his side as he prepares for League One football, but he admits that he is not so picky when it comes to good players.

The Crewe Alexandra boss when questioned about his summer recruitment requirements admitted that he would like to bolster his squad with another centre-half, central midfielder and forward.

He said: “It would be an ideal situation to add a centre-half, centre midfielder and centre forward but I am not really that picky if a good player comes along.

“I remember that we signed a right-back from Blackpool in the January window (Michael Nottingham) and we had to be inventive there. If it means being inventive again and be out there coaching them the position a bit then so be it.

“It would be the perfect scenario not to have to do that but we can do it and we will see what comes our way.”
