Boss on the potential of more players being invited down to Crewe Alexandra Training Park
Manager David Artell told crewealex.net that he would welcome the opportunity to invite players who he believes would bolster his squad for the 2020/21. One player who has already been presented with the chance to link up Artell's side over pre-season is the highly-rated forward Joe Malkin.
The 22-year-old currently plays for local neighbours, Nantwich Town in the Northern Premier Divison after securing a move from Cammell Laird back in 2018.
Artell said: “I think from next month possibly, yes, we may see more here. We have already been in contact with Joe Malkin who will come in from Nantwich. But we’ll have a couple more in next month, that’s for sure.
“The ball is firmly in Joe’s court now, he’s been given an opportunity. He’s got a tennis ball and a racket, so let’s see what he’s got.”
The gaffer has announced that his group of players will be returning on Thursday 23rd July for pre-season adhering to the non-contact training protocol until testing has been completed on Saturday 25th.
