David Artell has revealed that the club have received positive feedback in relation to Eddie Nolan’s back injury.

The Irish defender has missed the last three games after suffering with a nerve problem in his back but after meeting with an expert, the former Blackburn Rovers and Blackpool man will not need surgery at this stage.

The Alex boss told the club’s official website:  “Eddie’s condition has settled down over the last 10 days and we have received positive feedback from the specialist. He doesn’t need surgery at this stage and that is good news.

“Of course, it could flare up again and that is like with anything but at the moment he is making really good progress. It is subsiding and the specialist wants to give it more time to heal naturally.

“We are in the hands of Mother Nature in that regard and we are not out of the woods yet but it has been positive news.

“Once it fully settles, it will be a question of getting him fit and then play a game and if he doesn’t have a relapse then it should be a couple of weeks. We’ll have to wait and see but we are more happy with it.”
