Boss has high praise for Nottingham's character

David Artell says that the character of new loan signing Michael Nottingham will fit perfectly into the Crewe Alexandra dressing room.

Crewe have signed the Blackpool defender on loan until the end of the season and his ability to play at right-back and centre-half provides David Artell with more options, especially with the positions of Ryan Wintle and Perry Ng.

The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “I think that the character of a player is just as important as their football. We cannot have players who are problem in the dressing room. They just get it the way of what you are trying to achieve.

“We have done our due diligence on Michael. We have spoken to an ex-coach who was here, who managed him and spoke with others in the game and he comes highly recommended. He ticks those boxes.

“He will fit into the dressing room and that that is very important because we have a got one.”
