David Artell says that Nicky Hunt failed a late fitness test ahead of our home game against Leyton Orient due to an ‘accumulation of playing a lot of games’ without a rest. The 36-year-old had played 11 consecutive matches and had been struggling with a hip injury that forced him off at Swindon Town.

Following the 2-0 win over Leyton Orient, Artell said: “Nicky failed a late fitness test and that was an accumulation of things. I think it was his body saying that he needed a rest. He has played a lot of games in succession and probably needed a rest about three games ago.”
