Boss says Swindon are a threat regardless of Doyle staying on or not.
David Artell says that there is more complexity to Swindon Town than just their goal machine Eoin Doyle. The Irishman has captured the headlines by notching an incredible 23 goals this season.
Doyle, 31, is currently on loan from promotion rivals Bradford City and there remains speculation that the Bantams, who are currently 4th in the table are preparing to recall him – but Artell says that he can only control what he can control and he is preparing for all scenarios.
Artell told the club’s official website: “Doyle is a fantastic finisher but he needs his teammates to create those chances for him.
“We know he is very good at finishing those chances but there is a lot more to Swindon than Eoin Doyle.
“I think Jerry Yates, who is also on loan from Rotherham is the second top scorer in the league so we know they have other threats as well.
“They are a good team regardless of who they have up front and it is always a tough place to go. We respect them but we do not fear them regardless of if they Yates and Doyle up front or they are both recalled by their parent clubs.
“We will just have to wait and see what happens this week.”
