David Artell has told the club’s official website of his delight in Daniel Powell’s performances since his return from an ankle problem.
The Alex forward scored two more goals against Carlisle United on New Year’s Day to take his recent tally to five goals in his previous four matches and Artell says that the former MK Dons and Northampton winger has to ‘keep on doing what he is doing’.
Artell said of the Luton-born winger: “Daniel has been terrific since he came back from his injury. Before he came back, we had a little chat. It was just to make sure that he was alright and if there was anything we could do to help him along.
“It was an open chat and we got to know how he was feeling and how to get him going again. I don’t know if the chat played a part but whatever it is, he has to keep doing it.
“We have worked hard on the offensive side of our game and making better decision in the final third. I think that work is paying off and we continue to get into some great positions. Daniel has worked hard in that and he is reaping the rewards of the work he has put in.”
