Crewe legendary Midfielder Dale Jasper Has Sadly Passed Away

31 January 2020

Tribute to one of our finest ever passers of a football

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of our former players, Dale Jasper, at the age of 56. Londoner Jasper joined Crewe Alexandra in 1988 from Brighton & Hove Albion and the cultured midfielder went on to make over 100 first-team appearances under Dario Gradi.

Jasper broke through the youth ranks at Chelsea to make 10 league appearances for the club in the old First Division before he joined Brighton in 1986 for the chance of more first-team football.

Dale helped Crewe Alexandra to that famous promotion from Division Three in 1989 before his departure to Crawley in 1992.

A stylish passer and creator, Jasper, typified the Crewe Alexandra midfielder and his performances will always be remembered by the older generation of Alex fans.

What a player and what a character he was. RIP.

Our condolences go to all the family, friends and fans of the Alex who remember Dale so fondly.
