Crewe Alexandra are pleased to announce the loan signing of Middlesbrough forward Stephen Walker. The 19-year-old has signed a loan deal at The Alexandra Stadium until the end of the 2019/20 season.

Walker has made eight appearances for Boro this season, including a start in the EFL Cup against the Alex back in August.  

A graduate of the well respected Middlesbrough youth system, Walker signed a new four-and-a-half year contract with the Championship side in January 2019.

He then immediately went on loan to MK Dons where he made seven appearances as the Dons secured promotion from League Two.

Walker has also been a regular with England at youth level, most recently scoring six goals in nine appearances at U19 level.

He will now look to add competition in the Alex attacking ranks and the forward could make his debut when Dave Artell’s side face Walsall tomorrow.

Stephen will wear the number 29 shirt for Crewe and you will be able to hear from our new loan signing later today.

The deal is subject to final confirmation from the EFL.
