Boss: "Jonah Won't Be Going Out In January "

29 January 2020

David Artell has told the club’s official website that James Jones will not be leaving Crewe Alexandra before the end of the transfer.

Jones has not featured as much as he would have liked this season but he has not asked to leave on loan.

The midfielder came off the bench against Leyton Orient last night, along with Tom Lowery, and they assisted in swinging the game back in Crewe's favour possession wise.

The Alex boss has praised Jones’ continued professionalism.

Artell told the club’s official website: “Jonah has spoken me to me often about his situation but not recently. My door is always open and that applies to everyone.

“It isn’t a question of keeping himself going because he is a terrific professional. He does everything to the letter, how he eats, what he drinks, how much sleep he gets. The way he looks after himself and the way he conducts himself, he is a true professional.

“James has a terrific attitude and he is a good player. We just have to get more out of him.

The boss added: “He is not going out on loan in January and he hasn’t knocked on my door asking to and I’ve not pulled him into the office to ask him to leave. “
