Eddie Nolan will visit a specialist again on Monday to evaluate his back problem. A nerve in Nolan’s back is affecting his strength in his leg and that has forced the Irish defender to miss the club’s last five games.

The Crewe Alexandra manager told crewealex.net: “Eddie is progressing but he will visit the specialist again on Monday to see if there is anything more we can be doing. We will exhaust every avenue.

He added: “Eddie makes progress and then it slows up but the specialist has said he is further on than he should be with the injury he has.”
