Artell: "Our Emotions Do Not Fluctuate "

20 January 2020

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell says that our levels have remained consistent and will continue to be so until the end of the season. The Alex boss is a firm believer in keeping emotions in check and he doesn’t get too high when we win or too despondent when we lose.

Ahead of our mid-week game at Macclesfield, the Alex boss told the club’s official website:  “We lost at Swindon and there were a few grumbles and then we beat Cheltenham and it is rosy again. It doesn’t work like that I am afraid.

“You have to keep at the right levels and no-one here gets carried away. Our points return has been good enough. We are a few points off where we want to be. There is always room for improvement. We could have more points and that is the way we look at it.

“They are capable of more.  That is me being realistic. We really are taking it one game at a time. It is game to game and trying to get three points. I heard Jurgen Klopp say the same thing yesterday and that was after his captain, (Jordan) Henderson had said Liverpool take it game-by-game straight after the game.

“We are no different. It is just a different league.”
