Rio Adebisi To Have Ankle Operation

21 February 2020

Young defender to have floating bone removed today but is expected to be back before the end of the season.

Rio Adebisi will undergo surgery on his ankle injury today. The Crewe Alexandra full-back will undergo an operation to remove some floating bone. The youngster, who has made five appearances for the first team this season, has not featured since New Years’ Day when he started in the 4-1 win over Carlisle United.

David Artell explained to the club’s official website: “Rio will have an operation to remove some floating bone and that will see him miss the next 4-5 weeks so that is a blow to him, but he will be back before the end of the season.

“Rio had a scan and we thought the problem would sort itself out because the ankle looked fine.

“He will have that taken out and he will be fine.”
