David Artell has told the club’s official website that Tom Lowery’s absence from the squad at Plymouth Argyle was a precautionary measure.
Lowery was back on the substitutes’ bench for our home game against Crawley Town but was off it again for the trip to Home Park after complaining of feeling some soreness around the pelvis.
The Crewe Alexandra boss told the club’s official website: “Tom was complaining of some soreness so we didn’t use him. We wanted to give him some more time.
“We don’t want them to be heroes and those extra few days may pay off. We will be careful with all the players. We don’t want to push them if they have a niggle or slight injury and that be detrimental to us in March and April.
“We want Tom to be 100% not 80% and be right when he is back. He has that little niggle, so let’s get rid of that niggle and take it from there.
“He won’t be out for long and if that means its Saturday, the Saturday after or for Exeter away we will see, but he is progressing well.”
