A fit-again Olly Lancashire appreciates that he has to dislodge someone out of the centre-half spot says Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell. Lancashire is available for selection following almost five months out of action with an Achilles injury but Artell says that he will have earn his place.
Artell told the club’s official website: “Olly has some work to do and that is not a negative. He has been out for a while but he is now fit and whilst he was injured there were others who came in and played and did well.
“That’s football and Olly has been in the game long enough to know that he has to dislodge someone from the team. That is the challenge ahead of him now and he knows that he has train well every day and try and get ahead of someone who is in the team.
“Those who are not in the team have to dislodge someone. That is the case across the board and it doesn’t matter about position or age, if they deserve the shirt then they will keep it. “
