Dave Artell spoke to crewealex.net about the severity of injuries to Tommy Lowery, Chuma Anene and Daniel Powell.
After Saturday's defeat to Plymouth, Artell applauded Daniel's honesty with him as he continues his recovery back into the first-team setting.
Dave added: “He said to us Friday night, ‘look, I’m not 100% right.’ That’s fine. If you need another night, then we will look after you. Again that’s fine, it’s good honesty from him (Powell). Chuma is another that’s in that position."
The wideman currently sits on nine goals for the Railwaymen, but has struggled of late with regaining full match day fitness.
The boss said: “We are trying to nurse people back in and limit their exposure to injury. We’ve then just got to make sure that we do it well and without too many risks. It’s important that the players are honest with us and that we are honest with them.
Both Anene and Powell missed out on our last home fixture against Crawley Town, with Lowery being an unused substitute.
He continued with: “Hopefully in the end we will have everyone to choose from that are 100% right, that’s the key rather than some at 80 percent or 70 percent.
"We’ve got to make sure they are firing on all cylinders for every game from now until the end of the season.”
