Boss: "We Go Again This Weekend"

20 February 2020

Home win over Macclesfield would be the perfect tonic to erase Plymouth defeat says David Artell.

David Artell says his Crewe Alexandra side have dusted themselves down and will go again against Macclesfield Town this weekend.

The Railwaymen suffered their first defeat in eight games at promotion rivals, Plymouth Argyle, and although that occurred under controversial circumstances at Home Park, the Crewe boss believes the best way to get that disappointment fully out of the system is by defeating our Cheshire neighbours this weekend.

The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “We have to lick our wounds and go again this weekend. We felt hard done by because we should have had two pens, one where the referee has accused my player (Stephen Walker) of diving, which it never was.

“We have also created some chances and missed a sitter, so we should have won. It is not sour grapes. Plymouth won the game and credit to them.

“We have Macclesfield at our place at the weekend and we go again. The performance was there against Plymouth, just not the result, and that is what we have got to improve on this Saturday.”
