Boss: "Tom Has To Be Do His Stuff To Earn His Place Back"

28 February 2020

David Artell says that his creative midfielder, Tom Lowery, will have to reclaim his place in his starting XI after missing the club’s last five games with a groin problem.

The Holmes Chapel midfielder, who has scored five goals this season, has been complaining of some soreness around his pelvic bone but he was deemed fit enough to be named as an unused substitute in the 2-1  home win over Crawley.

If he wil be named in the squad of 18 for this weekend's trip to Morecambe remains to be seen.

David told the club’s official website: “Tom is in the same boat as Olly (Lancashire). He has not been out as long but when he was injured there have been others who have come into the side and done well.

“He (Tom) has to get back in. He has to train well, do his stuff and earn himself an opportunity. If he gets the chance he has to grab the shirt. That isn’t just Tom and Olly, that applies to all of those players out of the team. It applies to Travis Johnson, Connor Heath, Regan Griffiths and Dave Richards.

“If they need any example of that then they just have to look at Luke Offord.”
