David Artell says that his players have to continue to chip in with goals from all over the pitch if we are going to secure automatic promotion.

Crewe have shared the goals around the season and that has given us the platform to challenge for promotion. The Railwaymen have had an impressive 15 different scorers this season.

Artell told the club’s official website: “If we are to end up in one of the automatic spots then we will need goals from all over the pitch. We have had a number of players chip in with goals and it has to continue.

“We have had the full-backs chipping in of late and we need the centre-halves to chip in with a few more goals now.

“It takes the pressure off the forward players and it means we are not relying on Chuma or Chris all the time. We have good players, who can take goals and long may that continue until the end of April.

The boss added: “We really are taking it one game at a time. All the focus is on winning the next game. We have two tough home games coming up and the aim is to get six points, it’s as simple as that.”
