David Artell wants his Crewe Alexandra to avoid back-to-back defeats in the League with a positive result against Cheshire neighbours Macclesfield Town this weekend.
Crewe have only lost back-to-back defeats in League Two once this season after losing at home to Port Vale and then being beaten away at Northampton Town. In between those two matches, Crewe drew with Everton U-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy and Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup.
Crewe suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Plymouth Argyle at the weekend and Artell is hoping we bounce back in style at home to the Silkmen this Saturday.
Artell told crewealex.net: “We haven’t lost many back-to-back games this season, especially in the league and we want to avoid it happening this weekend.
“We want to get back to winning ways again and go on another little run. That starts this weekend.
“It is a local derby and it will be tough. It was tough at their place and going there with the pitch as it is, is a tough place to go. It is never easy going to Macclesfield but we know we are a match for anyone in this division.
“We have to show that the first half at Moss Rose was the abnormally out of the four halves we are going to have. We were dominant in the second half there and we have to show more of the same over both halves this weekend.”
