Artell: "Always A Tough Afternoon At Morecambe"

28 February 2020

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell knows that going to the Globe Arena is not an easy place to go and he is expecting a tough encounter against a Morecambe side, who have only lost one home game in their last ten games.

Crewe will be aiming to keep their promotion aim on track by recording another win on the road, but Artell has reiterated to his players that there are no easy games in League Two.

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Morecambe, the Alex boss told us: “Morecambe have improved and their home record of late is good. Derek (Adams) has signed some good players in January and their form has backed that up.

“They may be at the wrong end of the table but they are used to battling and grinding out results. It will be a tough afternoon and that is what we should expect.

“What Morecambe have achieved over the last 8,9, 10 years is terrific. They have fought to retain their league status and they deserve great credit. That is ex-managers, directors, staff, the people behind the scenes, the supporters.

“We have to be mindful of the fact that if you are not at it and are prepared to match their work ethic then it can happen, you can be on the wrong side of a result.”
