Artell: "Professionalism Has To Continue"

26 February 2020

David Artell says that his Crewe Alexandra side have to show the same level of professionalism shown against Macclesfield against fellow strugglers Morecambe this weekend.

Crewe ran out comfortable 2-0 winners against our local neighbours at Gresty Road and Artell says that his players did not have to particularly ‘extended themselves’ to get the job done.

Ahead of this weekend’s away trip to Globe Arena, the Alex boss said: “I think we played Macclesfield at the right time. Mark (Kennedy) said pretty much the same think to us afterwards because I think the games against Exeter and Plymouth took a lot out of them.

“I thought we were comfortable and we didn’t have to extent ourselves too much. I thought it was a really professional performance from us and we didn’t look in any real danger.

“Even when we don’t extent ourselves or play as well as we can in a period in that second half, it was still three points on the board and that is the most important thing. That is all that matters.

“Now we have to continue in the same vein to make sure we pick up three points. It is about finding a way to win.”
