Boss: "Everyone Has To Be On Their Toes And Ready"

24 February 2020

David Artell says that opportunities will continue to arise for members of his squad. The Alex boss says that he will need the majority of his squad for the run-in and says that the door will continue to open for a few, who may not have startedin recent weeks.

The Alex boss has never been afraid of giving younger ones a chance and only recently he has placed his faith in Luke Offord at centre-half and the on-loan Stephen Walker as the replacement for Daniel Powell.

The Crewe boss told crewealex.net: “There are still a dozen games to go and we will need all of them. If they are not in the team then they need to pushing the others every day in training.

“To be fair we have had that this season, the competition has been good and as a manager you want to have those headaches.

“We might have to give someone a breather or someone might get injured and that will give someone else a chance to get back into the fold.

“They all have to train well and be ready because you never know what might happen. Luke (Offord) was on loan at Nantwich one week and playing in our first team the next. It is about getting one of those shirts and playing well enough to hold onto it.”
