David Artell says he is relatively pleased with the way his Crewe Alexandra have defended in our last two home games.
Crewe have won both home games 2-1 against Oldham and Crawley and the Alex boss believes that they have been unfortunate to concede and not keep a clean-sheet in both.
Oldham hit the Alex on the counter-attack and Artell was annoyed that a handling offence in the build-up wasn’t picked up. He was also disappointed with Crawley’s penalty award on Tuesday night claiming it was ‘soft one’ against Chris Porter.
Following the 2-1 win over Crawley, the boss told crewealex.net: “I think we have been defending well and we have been unfortunate to concede in the last two games. They haven’t deserved it.
“Against Crawley, they have forced Will (Jaaskelainen) into a really good save and were given a soft penalty. They got behind us once and I don’t think they had many touches in our penalty area. I would think it was about eight. I know they were few and far between.”
