Artell To Come Face-To-Face With Former Team-Mate Jake Buxton

Alex aiming to have better joy at Pirelli Stadium against The Brewers

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says that any trip to Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium ‘is never an easy place to visit’

The Railwaymen will be making one of the shortest journeys of the season aiming to secure back-to-back wins following Tuesday’s impressive 4-2 win over Swindon Town.

Jake Buxton’s Albion side have also turned a corner in recent weeks and have encouragingly collected points against promotion hopefuls Charlton Athletic and Sunderland.

Artell is expecting another tough away assignment at the Pirelli Stadium this weekend. Crewe’s only victory at the stadium came way back in February 2010 when goals from Shaun Miller and Clayton Donaldson gave us a 2-1 win.

Ahead of this weekend’s fixture, Artell told the club’s official website: “Burton is never an easy place to go. They are a stable club and I know Jake (Buxton) well from when we played together at Mansfield. He is a great lad and I am looking forward to seeing him again.

“I’ve seen their chairman, Ben Robinson, speak at various seminars and he was fabulous. I was very impressed with his talks and how he runs the club. They have always been a well-run club and they give themselves the best chance of being success. They are very similar to , that they don’t operate beyond their means.

“They have had a couple of good results of late against Charlton and Sunderland, so we know it is going to be another tough game.

David added: “We also know that if we can play anything like we can then we can give anybody a game in this league. It will be a tough afternoon because they are a good side and have a good man in charge but it is another one to look forward to.”
