Dale: "Happy With The Way Things Are Going"

18 December 2020

Owen Dale says he is pleased with his recent form of four goals in his last four games as it has helped the club remain unbeaten in that period. Crewe will be aiming to extend that unbeaten run to five games at AFC Wimbledon this weekend and if selected Dale is hoping his form in front of goal can continue at Plough Lane.

The former Academy graduate told the club’s official web-site:  “I am happy with my stats of late because it is part of my game that I’ve worked hard on to improve. I wanted to improve my end product and get more assists and goals for the team.

“So things have been going nicely at the moment and I’m happy. I have worked on things on the training ground and trying to be more calm and composed on the pitch. I’ve tried not to rush things and snatch at chances as much and hopefully it looks to be paying off more.

“Scoring the equaliser at Burton (an acrobatic overhead kick in the last minute) has certainly helped. It gave me a boost and I think I’ve taken that on into the next games.

“The goals and assists help the team get results and that is the main thing. I want to work hard for the team, graft and put a shift in and the goals that I have scored is a real bonus on top of that. I wanted to add more goals to my game this season and I hope it continues for as long as possible.

“The lads are playing well as a team and we are full of confidence. To beat Northampton in the last minute and get something from the Burton game has given us a real boost as well.

He added: “With the chances we are creating, we are going to score a lot of goals soon. I think it will come together soon and we will get a few.”
