Dale Can Be A Real Game Change For Us

8 December 2020

Two goals in two for in-form wide man Owen Dale.

David Artell has praised the development of Owen Dale and says that if the 22-year-old continues to progress at the rate he is, then the club are going to have a ‘very good player on our hands’.

Dale notched his fourth goal of the season with a flying overhead kick away at Burton at the weekend and Artell believes that his ability is really beginning to shine on a consistent basis.

The Warrington-born winger, has now scored two goals in his last two games and Artell says he is ready to have that really consistent run in the first team.

Talking ahead of our Papa John’s Trophy tie at Hull, Artell told us: “Owen has a great attitude. He is always striving to get better and at times he beats himself up too much because of it. He is very committed and that comes across in the way he plays.

“He is very brave, doesn’t mind a tackle or heading it and has great character. He is ambitious in his play and he sees and tries things that others don’t see or cannot do.

“I don’t mind that because he is a creative player. He is still learning and it is about doing the right things in the right place at the right time.

He added: “He is developing all the time and if he carries on then we will have a very good player on our hands.”
