Artell: "We Are Preparing For Rochdale As Normal"

28 December 2020

Until we hear differently, we prepare as normal.

David Artell and his Crewe Alexandra players are preparing as normal for tomorrow night’s trip to Rochdale.

The Alex are training as usual in readiness for our mid-week fixture at the Crown Oil Arena. Rochdale’s Boxing Day fixture against Blackpool was postponed due to a confirmed cases of Covid-19 at the club. A number of players and staff had to self-isolate.

Artell told the club’s official website: “The game is on until we hear anything different. I haven’t heard anything and we are preparing as normal.

“Like I have said, I’ve not heard anything but it would surprise me if the game is called off. There will come a point where there are not many Tuesday nights left. I am glad we have played the number of games we have.

“It wouldn’t be ideal if football missed another two, three weeks and we just hope the game is on. I would think Rochdale will be thinking the same. I am pretty sure they will want to play. Then of course, we hope that the weather doesn’t come into play as well!”
